Living with a physical disability, she had no way to get to the market, to church, or to see a doctor without being carried. Shining Star Centre provided her with a hand-powered tricycle — and for the first time, she can go where she needs to go, on her own.
For years Joram lived in a crumbling structure of rusted sheets and sacking — no secure door, no protection from the rain, no dignity. Supporters of Shining Star Centre funded the building of a proper home for him, and the community gathered to dedicate it together. He also received a wheelchair, so the home he now owns is one he can actually move around in.
